MOOCs – What are MOOCs?

Today, technology and information grow so quickly that it is scary to blink – you may open your eyes in a new strange world.

It behooves all of us to constantly learn – not just new apps at appcentral.ca, which is amazing, but at an in-depth level, as in the nature of university courses or classes.

Certainly most of us do not have time to physically go back to school but we have such a great alternative – MOOCs.

What are MOOCs? Massive Online Open Classes.

These are often given by world experts on particular disciplines, there is no charge and the depth of knowledge imparted is impressive.

Who offers these classes?

Here in Canada: our leading universities, such as U of T, McGill, UBC, A Alberta, ++++

Elsewhere: MIT and Harvard via EDX.org, Udacity.com, NovoEd.com, many others, all in a directory at an aggregator called Class-Central.com, or Coursera.org

Instead of sitting in front of a TV at night, enduring yet another sit-com or crime scene drama, consider sitting cuddled up with your tablet, smart phone, or computer monitor, sipping a glass of wine, and imbibing knowledge to take you confidently forward past the next blink of an eye. What you learn may even transform you into one of the architects of tomorrow’s technology. It could even help you to earn you that coveted promotion.
